Soren, a baby barn owl, gets kidnapped by owls from St. Aggie’s, an apparent orphanage where owlets are indoctrinated into becoming warriors. He and his new pals flee to the island of Ga’Hoole to aid its noble, intelligent owls in their struggle against the army formed by St. Aggie’s cruel overlords.

Snyder has come closest to achieving excellence in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. Over a decade later, isn’t it time for a second run? People prefer a Snyder cut of this. Its tempo is non-existent, its introduction scarcely noteworthy, and its last third a wonderful combination of forgotten bits stitched together to form an acceptable conclusion. Quite violent for a children’s film, yet the greatest of Disney was no different. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole boasts excellent animation, but it masks a hollow plot of brotherly conflicts and fighting birds.
