Despicable Me (2010) Storyline:
Supervillain Gru (Chris Renaud), a man who enjoys everything evil, devises a scheme to take the moon. Gru prepares to destroy everyone who stands in his way, surrounded by an army of tiny yellow minions and his unbreakable armory of weapons and war machines. However, all of his planning and preparation have not prepared him for the most difficult task he will face: three charming orphan girls (Janet Healy, Nina Rappaport-Rowan, and Robert Taylor) who aspire to have him as their father.
Review of Despicable Me (2010):
The first movie in the Despicable Me series is a classic. I love how Gru-the main character-wants to steal the moon, but he needs to steal the shrink ray first, and then get money from the bank in order to build a rocket. And the part where he fails to sneak into Vector’s fortress is funny with all the failed attempts as they get more painful. It’s amazing that Gru somehow stole the moon “temporarily” when his rocket was complete. It’s kind of shocking that Gru didn’t think about the side effects and consequences of using the shrink ray. The way that Gru defeated Vector by sending him into space, but Gru got lucky by saving the girls at the last second, and having his minions at his side. I do have to wonder what happened to the shrink ray since it wasn’t in either of the sequels!
